Dell EMC (EMC Corporation till 2016) — the American company, one of the world's largest corporations in the market of products, services and solutions for storage and information management. EMC was founded in 1979 by the being employee of the Intel company Richard Egan and Roger Marino, the company name - the letters E and M in EMC was formed from here.

The main field of activity of EMC — development and production of storage systems of data and the software for control of information infrastructures. Representative offices of EMC are located more than in 80 countries of the world, including Russia. Among solutions of the company there are such products as Symmetrix (a "flagman" product, a basis of storage systems of information in many data-centers), CLARiiON, Centera, NetWorker, Documentum, etc.

Since September 7, 2016 I stopped being the independent company and with new the name — Dell EMC became subsidiary of updated corporation Dell Technologies.
